Choosing to Make a Difference
17 October 2008
Wesley Institute student Andrew Wilson is just one subject away from completing his Master of Counselling, and is already working full time with Interrelate Family Centres. Originally, Andrew had a position designing IT systems for Telstra; however he felt unsatisfied and unfulfilled in his role.
“I wanted to do something that had more impact on people’s lives... so I decided to explore counselling as a vocation….”
He talked things over with Wesley Institute lecturers, completed his Grad Dip Theology with WI, and then finally enrolled in the Masters of Counselling.
“Wesley Institute’s Masters of Counselling is great because it teaches you the link between beliefs & values & clinical psychology...”
Recently, Andrew was promoted to Relationship Services Manager for Interrelate Sydney North branch. He also made his debut TV appearance on SBS TV’s ‘Insight’, as part of a client interview, featuring Interrelate’s anger management program, ‘Making Choices’. It’s clear that the choice Andrew has made to make a difference is already influencing and transforming lives.
Wesley Institute is thrilled to see their graduates succeeding in the workplace.
We wish Andrew all the very best in his future endeavours.
