What is Wesley Institute (WI)?

We are a creative arts and ministry college offering Diplomas to Masters in Counselling, Dance, Drama, Education, Graphic Design, Music and Theology.

Is Wesley Institute accredited?

Yes. We are accredited by the Department of Education & Training (DET) and university recognised.

What denomination does Wesley Institute belong to?

We are a cross-denominational college.

Do you have to be a Christian to study at the Institute?

No you don't. But we do need our students and staff to respect Our Values.

Who are the lecturers?

They are industry professionals in their respective fields.

How do I Apply?

Is there an application fee?

No.

Who can certify my documents?

To get a certified copy, take an original document and its photocopy to one of these people: Justice of the Peace, Police Officer, or one of our staff from the Registrar's Office. They will sign the photocopy to say it is a true copy of the original document. Please do not send originals with your application, because they will not be returned.

Can I fax or email my application form?

No. You need to submit the original application form with all the certified supporting documents to the address below.

Once I've submitted my application, how long do I wait for a response?

It depends. Contact our Registrar's Office on +61 2 9819 8817 to find out.

I can't seem to open PDF files. What should I do?

To open PDF files you must have Acrobat Reader installed on your system. To obtain this free software, click the link above and follow the instructions.

I want to download a file. How do I do that?

To save a file (eg, PDF) locally to your hard drive, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the desired link
  2. Select Save Target As
  3. Choose a directory (eg, My Documents folder)
  4. Click Save or press Enter

What are the semester dates?

Semester dates are available within the Current Student section, on the right-hand column.

How do I apply for credit of previous study?

Once you've been accepted to the college, you can obtain an RPL (Recognition for Prior Learning) Application Form. There is a $50 fee.

Does the college offer financial aid or loans?

Yes.

  • Domestic students are eligible to apply for FEE-HELP.
  • International students are able to apply for financial aid after your first semester. This financial aid may be granted to those students who are able to demonstrate a genuine financial hardship and can be granted up to $1000 per semester.

Can I receive Austudy assistance?

Yes, if you are eligible, as we are a Government Accredited course. Once accepted into the course you will be given a letter of confirmation from our Registrar's Office that you can take to Centrelink to apply for Austudy.

What is Student Housing?

Student Housing is special apartments that only students can rent.

Does Wesley Institute teach English?

No, but we have partner colleges around Sydney. Call Student Recruitment on +61 2 9819 8824 for more information.

Is orientation compulsory?

Yes. Orientation gives you the opportunity to meet our students and staff, become familiar with our campus, obtain your Student ID card and complete the enrolment process.

Could I study part-time?

Yes.

If I am in the area, could I come and check the college?

Absolutely! You can either call our Marketing Office on +61 2 9819 8824 and book a campus tour (recommended) or go to our reception desk.

How do I audition if I don't live in Sydney?

You can send in a DVD/Video of your audition. Check our course booklet for further details.

Are there courses available correspondence/distance?

Yes. At the moment, Graduate Diploma in Education is available via distance. We aim to have more courses available via correspondence in the near future.
