Julie has had an extensive career in Education spanning Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors. Before coming to Wesley Institute, Julie spent eight years as Deputy Principal of Covenant Christian School (a prep to Year 12 school) in Sydney. Her great passion is to see students reach their potential in whatever field they choose. As a Deputy Principal she felt she had a part to play in seeing those dreams and aspirations fulfilled in students. Julie was also a History teacher and feels she was successful when her students developed a passion for History and wanted to learn more.
Julie sees teaching as playing a pivotal role in the development of the following generations, particularly for Christians. After a successful career in the school sector, Julie felt that she could make a contribution to training pre-service teachers in the best possible way, from a Christian perspective. Wesley Institute’s Grad Dip Ed and Master of Teaching provide the means by which this can happen. As the school grows she sees that many teachers are being developed to be effective in classrooms all over Australia.
Julie is currently completing her Doctorate in Education on Professional Experience.
