Dr Marie-Thérèse Proctor
Head of the Graduate School of Counselling
BA (Psychology/Religious Studies), BA (Honours in Psychology), PhD (Psychology)
Dr Proctor is Head of the Graduate School of Counselling at Wesley Institute. She is an experienced researcher and academic; a psychotherapist; and a registered psychologist and Medicare provider of psychologically-focused services. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology/Religious Studies) from the University of Sydney; and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours in Psychology - Class 1 and University Medal) and PhD (Psychology) from the University of Western Sydney. She is currently undertaking a Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy) at the University of Sydney, her Masters thesis continuing her PhD work in the area of spiritual attachment. Her areas of interest include meaning-making in the context of complex trauma; psychological maturation and spiritual formation; and psychosocial adjustment of family members caring for ill children and adolescents.
