Wesley Institute Choir sings for Australian Idol 2008 Final

Australian Idol heard reports of our award-winning choir and approached WI Principal and Choir Director Dr David Johnston, to invite them to perform at the highly anticipated 2008 Australian Idol Final.
1.85 million watched as the Wesley Institute Choir accompanied both finalists in their last battle for victory, with Wes Carr emerging as the triumphant 2008 Australian Idol.
Choir members revelled in the opportunity to support the ‘Idols’, rehearsing and filming with them throughout the weekend in preparation for the final live broadcast from the Sydney Opera House. The choristers commented;
“It was a great opportunity and a whole lot of fun…”
“We learnt a lot and it was great to be a part of a national level TV broadcast.”
“We’re famous!” (amidst laughter…)
