Full time study now more affordable
There are some exciting new changes to Youth Allowance and other student payments. As a registered higher education provider, Wesley Institute offers courses approved for the Centrelink Youth Allowance, Austudy and Abstudy and the new Start-up Scholarship and Relocation Scholarship to eligible students.
From April and again in July 2010, changes to the age of independence, the parental income test and payments affected by part time work are all more generous. This means that more students will be eligible for Centrelink student support payments. And from April 2010, Centrelink will pay 2 new scholarships to students in higher education to assist with the costs of studying and living away from home. You don't need to apply for these scholarships - they will be paid directly to eligible customers.
To test your eligibility, contact Centrelink on 13 24 90 or at http://www.centrelink.gov.au/internet/internet.nsf/individuals/changes_youth_allowance.htm
