Wesley Institute's New Academic Director
Wesley Institute is delighted to announce that Dr Alan Bowen-James has assumed the role of Academic Director.
The Academic Director provides leadership and direction for the Heads of Schools towards the fulfilment of the Institute’s vision of Transforming Lives through Excellence in Christian Higher Education.
The Academic Director is responsible for implementing and monitoring Wesley Institute’s Teaching and Learning Plan driving educational performance, for overseeing the quality of instruction and assessment, for ensuring the integrity of educational programs and student services offered, and for leading the educational team, including the entirety of the faculty.
Dr Alan Bowen-James has diverse professional experience and has spent the past 20+ years in teaching and education management, having held senior academic and management roles with Deakin Australia, University of NSW, University of Sydney and Cengage.
Alan holds a number of degrees including doctorates in philosophy and education, and is committed to lifelong learning – one of our core values.
