Counselling Courses
We have approval from the NSW Department of Education to offer the following courses:
Master of Counselling
- The Master of Counselling provides an opportunity for advanced training in the area of primary care in mental health with an emphasis on integrating therapeutic skills with a Christian worldview. It opens doors to a vast network of professional resources and qualifies you for membership in appropriate peak bodies and professional guilds such as the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- This postgraduate course enables students to achieve a strong
theoretical understanding and the advanced level of skills needed by
practising counsellors.
- The Graduate Diploma of Counselling is the award given to students wishing to exit the masters program after completing a course load of eight units or 80 credit points

Pathways
Wesley Institute invites graduates of St. Mark’s National Theological Centre holding both an Advanced Diploma AND a Graduate Diploma of Counselling to apply for entry into Wesley Institute’s Graduate Diploma of Counselling (with the possibility of later articulation into the Institute’s Master of Counselling) .
- Combined, these St Mark’s awards meet the academic requirements for entry into the Graduate Diploma (subject to other normal admission requirements being met). Recognition of prior learning may be also granted, but any such applications will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis subject to applicants’ demonstrating competency either through a video sample of their work, a written exam, or both.
