Master of CounsellingThe Master of Counselling provides an opportunity for advanced training in the general counselling areas with an emphasis on integrating therapeutic skills with a Christian worldview. This Christian Counselling course is based upon a comprehensive, common body of professional knowledge, skills and values. The course units are designed to enable students to utilise a range of theories, concepts of practice, and research and practical skills relevant to working with clients in a variety of contexts. This postgraduate course enables students to achieve a strong theoretical understanding and the advanced level of skills needed by practising counsellors. Students have opportunity to develop competency in psychotherapy, relationship and family counselling or child adolescent and family counselling. Completion of the Master of Counselling will qualify students for entry into appropriate member associations of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Graduate Diploma of CounsellingThe Graduate Diploma of Counselling is the award given to students wishing to exit the masters program after completing a course load of ten units or 100 credit points, the equivalent of one year full-time study (which may be completed in up to three years of part-time study). Dance Movement TherapyThe Graduate Diploma of Dance Movement Therapy is a specialist qualification that is designed to provide professional training delivered by highly qualified people in the fields of counselling, dance movement therapy, and dance. The course structure encompasses various theoretical models and approaches, evidence-based interventions including counselling and assessment skills, dance movement therapy skills and techniques, ethical and legal processes, and practical experience with different client populations.
